Trapezium II
Painted aluminium on steel upright and slab base. 3.4 metres x 2.4 metres.
It is difficult to convey on a video the experience of watching this move in Sussex Prairie Garden, where one is aware of so many other small movements of the plants and trees and the touch of the gentle breeze itself. I have edited the video a little, but only one or two still moments have been removed. The articulation and movement of the four longer elements is similar to
Trapezium over water
but with a less angled trapezium. A fifth tube counter-balances so that the whole arrangement can move on both a 45 degree and a vertical axis. But it is not neccesary to know any of this to enjoy the movement!
